I didn’t know they made them in this caliber until a few days ago. Local gunshop says they never made them but i found one. Anyone else seen one?
Yup, I've had one for a couple years now. Found it at an auction where it got little respect. I plan on using it turkey hunting this spring, in case a coyote comes to my call. I put a scope on it; sighted it in for the rifle barrel and found that the shotgun patterns to nearly the same point of aim. It came with an improved cylinder choke tube but I was able to get a super full tube for turkeys. It's heavy but that won't bother me when using the 12 gauge.
i see that one sold on armslist a while back. the one i found is new unfired with a older redfield 2x7 scope on it.the guy bought 2 extra turkey chokes from brownells for it . he just never shot it. they must not have made very many.

The IZH 94 were chambered in 223/12...7.62x39/12....6.5x55/12.....7x57R/12.....308/12 and 30.06/12 for the US market. There were some 22lr/410 and 22mag/20 models and a liberal dose of oddball metrics calibers made.
CDNN was selling them back in 2003 for $250 and Remington brought them in a few years later under the Spartan label.
The last one I bought was an IZH SEVER in 22mag over 20 gauge. Cost me $300. They are funky but functional and really are a niche market.

BTW your local gun shop is full of crap.
I had an earlier/older EAA IZH-94 in 12 over 6.5x55 with a fixed, modified(?) choke.

I couldn't get the rifle barrel to shoot better than 3 or 4 MOA, but an acquaintance thought that he could make it shoot, so l sold it to him. After shooting dozens of different loads through it, he couldn't find a load that would group well enough to justify carrying the heavy SOB afield, so he ate a little crow and quit on it too. The last I heard, he still had it.
Mine shoots surprisingly well for what it is. Some Winchester factory ammo with 140 grain bullets shot better than two MOA. I haven't done much load development but I did find that the 100 grain bullets that I wanted to use for coyotes did not shoot as well as the 140's. Also, the point of impact was much different. I'll be ready for really big coyotes with those 140's.

I had just the opposite experience with the two I tried. One was a 7X57R, and the other was in 30-06. Both shot great, although the triggers were awful. The biggest complaint I hear is that the shotgun won't shoot to the same POI as the rifle barrels, much like the Savage 24 guns.

They are heavy with lousy triggers, but they work. At least mine did. I also had two of the 45-70 double rifles to play with, and both were acceptable, one being great, probably a bit if serendipity.

They're not Bond Street, but they're also not a gazillion dollars.
My 7x57R/ 12 shoots about an inch at 100 yds, looks like it was crowned with a vld reamer.
My brother's new Finnlight weighs about 4 lbs less, but for about $3K less I'm ok with it.
Saw one in Loudoun Guns in Leesburg maybe ten years ago. Kinda wish I'd picked it up for $400. A little rough around the edges, but from what I've read since, a better gun than I thought at the time, certainly serviceable.
Had one in 223/12. The 223 was pretty accurate at 100 yds. Was trying to get the 12 ga to shoot close to the point of aim with slugs at 50 yds. Wasn't successful. Thought the 223 could be even more accurate with a decent trigger as the trigger was horrible. Finally lost interest in trying to take it apart enough to work on the trigger. Sold it to someone who wanted to turkey hunt with it. It was heavy.

I saw this guy at the range last week and he told me that I'd sold it at a gunshow for $500 earlier this year. I sold it to him for $400, so he either made a little on it or he paid for the bullets, powder, and primers that he used in his unsuccessful load development.
