Come on guys, you re-elected Jacinda back into power? Really? You know she's going to shut the country down (again) before Christmas. Kiwi's have started making their way over here for holidays/see family etc, so there's fair chance they'll bring COVID back with them - some have even been going into Victoria when they aren't supposed to. Do you think she'll just quarantine the positive cases when they get back, or go full retard-country-shutdown? She doesn't have a good track record.

I just hope we are able to boot out dear Anastacia in our coming election.

The craziness just goes on and on. Our Politicians, it seems, are a limitless source of stupidity.

It never gets old, it perpetually becomes the 'new normal,' ha ha.

I too wondered about this. She won in a landslide no less, and her party controls the majority (i.e. no need for a coalition) - for the first time since 1996.

Is it something in the water?

People love to feel safe. Many voters probably feel they have been kept safe from Covid by her lock downs.

Exactly right. Prior to Covid young Cindy wasn't doing very well in the polls. Her government had failed to deliver on virtually everything they'd promised prior to the 2017 election. As well, many women, the more intelligent ones at least, didn't particularly like her donning a hijab immediately after the Christchurch mosque shootings in some sort of attempt at unity with the small Muslim population here. It was in reality condoning the subjugation of women although obviously the PM didn't see it that way. Rampant virtual signalling that the stupid swallowed en masse.

Virtually, every single night on the news prior to the election, there was Cindy with her trademark hand flapping, telling everyone to wash their hands, download a tracing app and to wear a mask on public transport. She had huge amounts of exposure that the National party opposition never got to have. Ashley Bloomfield, the chief executive of the Ministry of Health and the country's Director-General of Health was always there with the latest statistics on Covid. However, he was nearly always the runner up in the limelight to the PM. I have noticed since last Saturday's election that our PM has been absent from the Covid reports and they've been done singularly by Bloomfield. Cindy has won so she doesn't need the exposure for now.

A fair percentage of the population think that Jacinda saved them from Covid. This fallacy of course is perpetuated by the MSM who are mostly young university indoctrinated socialists. Nonetheless, I've got to admire Jacinda's communication skills. Her communication degree has definitely helped her get people to see her point of view. Add to that Jacinda definitely has a very strong sense of empathy that people can plainly see and admire, particularly women.

We could have got worse. If Labour had needed the Green party to govern as in the previous election we'd be in for even more of a rough three year journey ahead of us. Also, the Act party won ten seats in parliament and they have a very pro gun policy and will be doing their best to stop any attempt by the Labour government to introduce hate speech laws and any illogical and unfair gun legislation.

I didn't realise that she might have been the best pick out of bad bunch of options.

Don't forget that the ability to communicate well doesn't necessarily mean good decisions - Hitler had very good communications skills for example.

I agree and don't believe that she has made many good decisions. A politician that can communicate well will definitely have a better chance of convincing the general public of what they're trying to sell whether it's good, bad or just plain stupid.

What choice did anyone have? There was no one worth voting for in that election. But the women love her. All that relentless empathy.

She won the election because of Covid, and because of her trademarked look of concern whenever anyone mentions the shooting in Christchurch by that Australian guy.

I will give her one thing, she is good at marketing.

Well James, we have David Seymour from the Act party who is a strong advocate of sensible, logical firearms law that doesn't discriminate or encroach on the rights of the law abiding citizen. Don't agree with his pro abortion policy, however I can overlook that in view of the former.

Have fun with being so obnoxious that the Democrats will win every election from now on as you paint yourself into a smaller and smaller corner of narrower and narrower interests.

By sensible, logical firearms law I mean not letting fu*ked up, brain dead, morons and criminals legally buy guns. It means letting the law abiding buy as many firearms as they want, which currently we can. That the socialists are trying to change that is a given of course because they thrive on control.
