Jake rigged up the wicks the other day.
I used to use a wick rub, using a mixture of burnt motor oil and diesel, Worked too. Flies are bad here right now, and I've been spraying and feeding a fly mineral. Not sure that the mineral is working as well as I'd expected.
I asked our feed man about fly control mineral the other day. It's late this year for that, next year is another story.
Used to see more wicks in days gone by than I do now.
I've gone to spray, myself.
We $pent money on Longrange, Jake thinks it might be wearing off.

I probably should have started putting it out earlier than I did. Never used it before, so it's new to me as to how it works.
Fly control delivered by mineral consumption are products that inhibit reproduction of the horn fly in the manure pat.
They don't kill the adult flies. But they still help as part of a control program.
If I remember correctly, the fly control mineral contains phenothiazine?
What are you using on your wicks Wabigoon ?
We used to use malathion, and diesel fuel, I just asked Jake, something we bought at the farm supply store.
Thanks, I bought some synergized stuff from town and not overly impressed.
