Just make 'em like this to begin with? confused

Had the loader out on a job the other day. Had to clear some brush and move about 50 dumptruck loads of base material.

Got finished, and hooked on to my equipment trailer. Went to drive the loader up the ramps... No-Go.

It had come a little shower, and the tracks were a bit damp. They got me nearly to the top, and then started spinning. Wouldn't load at all. mad

So, I took the trailer, and bought a sheet of structural expanded metal, and cut to width and welded it on both ramps.

I foresee no more traction problems. smile

The trailer manufacturer should have saved me the trouble, though.

Cutting corners?

That looks good Barry. I had to screw old snowmobile track, and make a V block to load my Skidoo.

Steel prices are crazy now too.

I didn't have any of that material around, so I went to the metal place and had to pay about $115 for the 4x8 panel of that...

Barry, I wish scrap iron prices would catch up to steel.

Never liked the look of that angle on the ramps.
It looks like a kinda sorta job that sorta works.
Just doesn't seem "right".

But, it's how everyone does it.

So much stuff designed and built by people that never have used it.

Whole sheet or cut price? Either way it’s karazy.

That was for the whole 4x8 panel.

I cut it myself. I'd forgotten how tedious cutting expanded metal could be... wink
