....and they only eat when they're working.

I love to work with a good horse, and there's no replacing them for some things, but I can get a lot of jobs finished on an ATV before I can catch/saddle a horse.
I had a good gelding back when.
A quad is great for Iowa flatlanders, but parts of my country need something more efficient to move cattle. grin

Horses would be even handier, if we could hop on their back, and gallop off like Hopalong Cassidy, and not need to untie the bridle. laugh

I have to disagree they kick and buck with the worst of them at the worst of times . . .

Specially if you try to push them in where cows go to hide! ! !

They are wonderful inventions and are DANG HANDY . . . and FUN@!

But they'll still roll over on your leg.
I use a four wheeler for spraying weeds, dragging irrigation pipe, checking the fences, and things like that but when herding cows I always wish I had a horse.
