We started yesterday on ours. The big operators have been running combines for a few days now.

I rent a field to a local farmer who planted soybeans this year. They are just starting to change to a yellow color here in NE AL. Still a lot of green in the field so it will be a while before they're ready.

I've seen a few combines getting to work, but it'll be a while for most. Heck, a 2nd crop soybean field I drive by is still all green. The next one down the road has been harvested.

Most beans here are double crop, planted behind wheat. They are still several weeks away from being ready. There are a few early beans planted on ground that's considered too wet for wheat, and some of those beans are about ready now. Some farmers are planting a new high yielding variety of soybeans that are planted early, as early as the corn, and those have already been combined. Yields were good, or so I've heard. Been a pretty good crop year here, with some good corn yields, a lot in 200 bushel an acre range. Wasn't all that long ago that anything over a 100 was considered good.

A few people have started here in the driest fields, but most aren't ready yet.

Most beans in eastern Nebraska aren't dry enough yet and we're getting rain every couple of days making the fields too muddy, so farmers can't get out to harvest unless the ground is sandy and drains better than loamy upland soil.

Just started a few days ago.....beans were pretty dry but stems are pretty green and tough...first field yeald was 47. The one I'm in now is looking to be close to 60. Been rained out a few days..
