Better not have soggy fields... whistle

That's just a little overdoing it. I don't care what anyone thinks.

That tractor is a bit more hoss than I have too.

A self propelled hay stack. Not for this overaged farm boy.

Boy wouldnt that wreck havoc on the tractor?
Posted By: SamOlson Re: Movin' Hay? - 11/22/18
That is a good sized tractor.

And those appear to be light bales, straw? And they are little rounds.

That obviously wouldn't work with full size rounds. Or say alfalfa wound up tight. Maybe the spears would go in?

Those were little fluff balls.

Sam, I agree. Those spears went in awfully easy..... good tight coastal bermuda rolls and the spears dont go in so easy. Dont think that rig would work too well in the hills and terraces, either.

That's what I thought too.

You get to running as fast as he was in the hills and dales, and things could get sporty. wink

Yep, I was thinking it's flat there.
Aren't many places you could load that thing up, and get it to the farm here.

Square bales and a Hay Squeeze.....problem solved.

There's a reason the containers on cargo ships aren't round.. smile
Posted By: SamOlson Re: Movin' Hay? - 11/25/18
Charlie, but the rounds roll out so much smoother......
Posted By: wabigoon Re: Movin' Hay? - 11/25/18
We put up both big squares, and big rounds.
Posted By: SamOlson Re: Movin' Hay? - 11/25/18
For highway transport and storage(under a roof) the big squares would be nice.

For feeding and outdoor storage we prefer round bales.
(1500-1800 pounders)

Not to mention the balers are cheaper and take less horsepower.

Them some big bales!

Got a smaller bale to try and rolled across the trucking company scales with and without.
642 pounds. smile

I could almost pick it up and move it!

Yeah, the round bales I use are north of 1500 pounds.

You don't just throw a hay hook in 'em and stack them... laugh
