Opinions ?? Advice ???

Just got a free power washer up and running. What's a good detergent for all around use ?? Siding......pressure treated porch.......the pickups........the tractors........the quad ?? Or is there something better for some applications and another for others ???

New territory for this boy.

Mine allows for detergent, but you have to use the detergent head, which is much less powerful.

Usually, I'll spray Dawn/water mix on something really dirty with another sprayer, or trigger spray bottle, and then use the power washer to wash everything at high pressure.

Mine says don't use bleach it will ruin the pump.

The idea is to coat it with the soap, let it set, and then power wash it off. Lather, rinse, repeat as needed.

I use "Krud Kutter" as a degreaser and like it better than most. Simple Green is a good general purpose, but not as good on grease. Some stuff just isn't going to get clean that way, and some stuff a power washer just doesn't work well on period. I'm all ears on something better.

My Wally World pressure washer doesn't have the soaping feature. I knock the mud off with the pressure washer, spray Purple Power on with a spray bottle or hand sprayer, let it set a few minutes and then rinse it off with the pressure washer. Does a pretty good job.

I've kinda gotten away from using Simple Green type cleaners.

I have seen that stuff discolor chrome, and some black plastic type surfaces.

The best degreaser I have found that does not etch or discolor thing is the ZEP orange degreaser. It works really well.

It does do really well. It's just damned expensive down here. $16 a can.

I just use the el cheapo Gunk.
