Moved in here 4 years ago. Tackled a large stone patio project on my own with my wife and kubota tractor. Think we went through something like 34 tons of stone and aggregate. Its taken some work but got my native prairie grass growing pretty well too. Kind of can let things go these days and the grass keeps filling in and getting taller. Few pics of the progress.

I typically let the prairie grass go all summer and fall. Mow it in March to knock down the fire threat. Switchgrass, Indian Feather, Big Bluestem, Prairie Sand Reed, some shorter varieties mixed in.
Looks very nice!

You run the tractor well, too! smile

I'd hate to think about how much work I'd have to do without a tractor..
Thanks! Those little orange tractors can do some good work for a guy. Its paid for itself several times over and think I could get all my money back out of it if I wanted.
but then you'd have to back to using a shovel to move snow.
That looks great, good work.

That ain't happening Don. Couple of those blizzards last year and I was wishing for more ponies as it was.

Wabigoon, Thank you. Doesn't compare to the Kansas, Iowa, Missouri prairie grasses but for our elevation I am very happy with it.
I like the looks of it. We have a lawn on our farm and I don't know why.
