Awesome! Great photos too.
Nice! Love the colors on those brook trout. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Nice mix there and a good job with the camera. Most folks don't zoom in close enough.

Am taking some kids out next weekend and ran up to an 8,000 ft elevation lake for a pre trip tryout. We've been having a heat wave and the fishing sucked, like 3 fish an hour. Came off the mountain and decided to try an irrigation ditch that runs year round. Got 5 good rainbows in about 45 yards of fishing. Given its depth and flow though, one has to sneak along like a heron and flip flies over 3 ft high grass. Not a spot that heavy footed 3 ft tall kids could fish. Hope our temps decline in the coming days as we're going regardless.
Very beautiful fish ingwe .. Headed north for a few weeks starting tomorrow.. Have a wonderful fall!!
Nice Tom.
Great pics, nice fish, Tom.
Not from my beloved Montana....but fall trout/char none the less:

Beautiful fish!!
Nobody likes a jealous person Ingwe.
Great photos, thanks. Congrats, as much as I've fished I can't recall catching brooks, browns & rainbows on the same trip. Panther Martins?

You suck.
Ya just gotta rub it in to those with no access to the Brookies don'tcha?

Especially those displaying fall colors!

Deep down as that PM is in the rainbow, looks like it may be a keeper.
Is that native production or has it just had several years to grow to that size.

Yeah, there were a couple that swallowed it and had to hit the frying pan, but my wife likes them so.....

And yeah, everything you see in my pics is native production. Montana quit stocking streams in the early 70s IIRC. Thats part of the allure of these fish and the small streams we catch them in, neither they, nor their ancestors have ever known hatchery walls.

Another pic for you...

Stocked waters are fine for kids or even for adults who for whatever reason enjoy them, but they're not for me.

I'd rather catch a 10" wild fish, or at least naturally produced (depending on your definition of "wild") than a 20 inch stocked fish, with lower 48 steelhead and salmon excepted. They almost always better fighters, eat better, are more colorful and are not banged up with fins missing.

Same-o Tinman

Id rather catch a carp than a stocked trout...
Carrie and I did two float trips on the Kootenai out of Libby this summer. The latter a couple of weeks ago so still officially summer. We had great times, three days the first and two day the second, both with the Linehan's.

Carrie threw in a round of golf on day one.

Sheep down for some water.

Not exactly "fall" but I found a lake this past summer in the Wind River Mountains with the absolute best golden trout fishing I've ever seen. We landed a fair number over 15" and 10 or so that were 17-18 inches.
