Leave wed after work and headed down to Gastons on the White River for a few days of trout fishing. We have 8 of us and have been going down there for around 20 yrs now.. I’m looking forward to some fun and relaxation and maybe a little over indulgence. I hope I catch one of these tiger trout they stocked last summer.

If I can keep sober enough long enough, I’ll post a couple.

Sorry for not posting pictures but by the time we got back to the cabin it was happy hour.
On Thursday I may have had my best day ever on the river. Between my buddy and I we boated over 40 rainbows and 26 Browns. None of the browns went over 3 1/2 lb but the majority of them went over 2 1/2 lbs with several 3 lbs and 1 3 1/2 lb according to my scale. Friday we fished in the cold and rain all day and fish count was down but several 3 lb browns were caught as well as 1 tiger trout ( not by me and about 14” long).

Did you use Gastons guides?

Yes we did.

Sounds like a great trip, and you missed the deep freeze by a week. It also sounds like the Gastons guides put you in them. I’ve fished out of the State Park just up the road, but always in the summer when it is super hot and the fishing was slower.

JimHnSTL:

Sounds like a great run. Still the issue is, anyone can type. It takes a real fisherman to post pics.

Color me envious,

I’ll see what I can do about some pics. The photos are on my phone and they are a pain to bring here.
