Staying in Palmer AK this august for 10days. Looking for some advice on where to fish. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Reno
Run up the parks highway and hit any of the rivers, willow, sheep, montana ,little Su and you should be able to get into some really nice rainbows and maybe some Silver salmon. Kepler Bradley lakes on the way into town can be pretty good too.
Thanks for the info
I used to catch some really nice rainbows both trolling and through the ice on lake Lucille in Wasilla. And then the breast cancer awareness group started having their charity ice fishing derby there and it quickly went to mediocre and then worse. They killed a bunch of 2 to 6 pound fish the first year.
I’ve been gone for 4 years so maybe it’s rebounded by now.

Winter kill is probably the biggest impact on the trout in Lucille. Snow cover, shallow water and a lot of vegetation depletes the oxygen. Check with Mike at Three Rivers for the latest fishing info.
I was fishing in Palmer back in the 90’s. I know rivers & streams are all the rage, but we included a stocked lake in the edge of town. We used a boat there, may of been free, possibly a rental. One could catch all the rainbows you wanted, 12”+ length. We were mainly using rooster-tail & similar spinners. We only kept 4 that were badly hooked, had some salmon to eat.

Check with a bait or outdoor shop, they could point you in the right direction. Our timeframe was late July.
Mike at Three Rivers is great advice...
