Ok got another question for you guys. I'm taking my son on a bit of a back pack fishing trip. We will have to park the truck and then hike, following a creek about half a mile to 'the good spot' Once there we will be fishing for mainly bream/blue gill. Here is my question I'd like to keep all eating size ones I can so that I can take them home clean and fry them up. I really want to show him we eat what we catch just like we eat what we kill hunting.

Knowing that I am carrying everything in my backpack what is the best bet to keep those 'caught' bream until we are ready to pack it out. I'm thinking a super small stringer, but I've just never ever put bream on a stringer. Always had a bucket or live well to put them in.

Matt- You might try a mesh fish basket that can collapse and keep your catch alive longer. Works for me.-Mike

I'm hitting up a bass pro shop saturday, I'll check to see if they have anything like that. I know my local Academy didn't.
