Anyone heard of these guys? Me and a friend of mine are looking for a fly in fishing trip. Would like to know what experience you guys have.

Nance lake will not come up for me on Google maps.

me either. Have to fly in to it. 60 miles to Kenora by plane if you know where that is. We are suppose to be the only people on the lake.

It should be on a map, fly in or not. Kenora is about an hour, and a half west of Wabigoon Lake. Keep searching, and good luck with it.

There are more lakes in NW Ontario than a man could fish in five life times. About how much money is the fishing trip to cost?

Are you aware of the new two fish limit a day for non-residents?
Nance Lake is located just South of the Woodland Caribou Provincial Park and East of the Manitoba-Ontario border, roughly 95 miles North northwest of Kenora. Walleye, Lake Trout, and Northern Pike fishing is great from mid May thru June, and only very good for the rest of the year. I've not fished Nance, only Trapline and Chase, which are in the same general area and are all typical Canadian "shield" lakes. I don't think you'll regret a trip to any of the outpost lakes in that area.

Thank you for that.

I flew into a small lake just west of Caribou Provincial Park on the Manitoba side—I think it was called Mannifrank lake.
Walleye on every cast—as you would expect middle of August—average size was 4 to 5 lbs —which I did not expect.
We flew outta Pine Falls, Manitoba, well run outfit, price was reasonable.

do you get a boat with a trolling motor?

Fishing is easy, catching fish can get tricky!!!!

Boat with a 9.9 Yamaha. June 20-26. Walleye and Pike. Guy said smallmouth too. Those we know how to catch, Walleye not so much

I fish for whatever will bite the hook. Troll slow, and deep.
Have you ever fished rock bottom lakes?

Avoid them like the plague!! We've been traveling to NW Ontario for many, many years and always wanted to try out a 'cabin style' trip rather than dragging our truck camper across Canada/U.S. as we have done for decades.
We finally opted to try Walsten's Fort Separation cabin in 2015 (after looking over at it for 20 years) and we realized in about 20 seconds that the place was a complete 'sh thole' to quote our President. That mouse-infected, spider infested dump was a disaster! Trying to keep my wife and 22y/o daughter in that dump wasn't easy, and they are tough gals!

When I (actually somewhat kindly!) contacted Walstens to outline the uber long and ugly list of complaints after our stay they didn't even have the gonads to respond. F ck them! You've been warned!

You can drive to the lake (with your own boat!) and rent a camp trailer (and boat) very reasonably, Blair. PM me, it's some of the finest fishing in the world, and I'd prefer to discuss more via that means....

Attempt to get your money back, request it anyway. I suspect they'll not give you a cent back, but try.

I'm not a negative guy, I like this forum and see things 'glass half full,' but for what we paid, Walstens camp was awful.
I know some much better and cheaper alternatives on the same lakes.

Good luck.

I have no experience with them, but I can recommend Ganglers. First Class operation. I'm booked with them again in July.

All is not lost, keep on searching. The idea of fishing is to have fun, no matter how much work it is.
This is how you catch walleys
