My dad and I are thinking of dragging a boat out to ND during our annual prairie dog trip so we can either go up to Lake Sakakawea/Garrisson dam or south toward Cannonball and Fort Yates. I'm of the opinion that we should pay someone to take us out for a day since we've never fished either. Any guides or sport fishing associations I should talk to? Interested in most species except for bass. Walleye and salmon especially.

Planning to be fishing out there around May 24-25.
Check for fishing guides at www.ndtourism.com. The Van Hook Arm area is usually better for walleyes at that time of year. The tailrace below Garrison Dam can be excellent fishing any time of year with walleyes being the main target, but some huge brown and rainbow trout have been caught there.
