Went 4 for 4 at the lake the other day. No giants, but that’s ok......it was still a barrel of fun. The lake was up 2-3ft over summer pool, made fishing the weeds a snap as it’s usually huge mats that you really gotta steer a lure through. Water being over the tops simplified it for us.

A 4 Musky Day is a great day. What were you throwing?

First fish was on a cowgirl, the next 3 came on Medusa’s.

Great job,do they fight as hard as they look like they would.

Sometimes. They will fool you. The water was cooling, and these ones fought like they weren’t heading for the skillet, but usually you get a couple good runs and a head shake or two and that’s about it.

Looks like you had a good day congrats.

Every time I catch a good sized Pickerel at home it makes me want to tangle with a Muskie... Ever catch them on topwater?

Gary, I told you when I first heard this that most guys dont have a 4 Musky SEASON...let alone day! laugh

Looks like one has that figured out. On the bottom pic - is that missing fin due to nature's events or a product of some hatchery trimming.

We get a lot of fin clipping here in the PNW on steelhead, salmon, and some trout that are of hatchery origin. Helps the bios figure out who came from where etc.

Thanks fellas.

zknight- I had a post a few weeks ago where I went 3 for 3 on topwater in about 25 minutes time. I fish topraiders, whopper ploppers and buzz baits mostly. I don’t fish topwater often but certain conditions call for it.

Minute- the dnr does clip fins to determine age and the year the fish was stocked (kinda he same thing i guess). I would say thats exactly what this is. But they fight with each other a lot and I’ve seen some pretty banged up muskies over the years.

Tom- were pretty fortunate to have what we have here. We go after them hard nonstop......I think I’ve had 4 fish days before but it’s been awhile. Doubles are pretty common. I tripled a few weeks ago. Then some days you don’t see any. They can be easy to catch or fickle as all get out. Guess that’s why I love them so.

I bet watching one of those guys eat a plopper is pretty exciting!

Sometimes it sounds like a cannonball hitting the water, sometimes it’s a gentle slurp. You never know with them lol

You certainly have them dialed in.
Congrats.
And one right at the boad ramp too.
Hope no one saw that..
From what I hear, the folks that fish for them here are excited when they get a "follow" or a strike . . .
Posted By: Ky221 Re: 4 muskie day. - 10/07/18
They were all caught within 100 yards of the ramp lol..... you don’t typically have to go far at cave run to get into good weeds.

Make no mistake. We have days where it’s slow. But you can usually at least gurantee a follow or two. It’s not near as tough as it use to be. With stockings and catch and release. Really helps out.
