The road up to the high country opened.
McKinley road to Wishon reservoir (7,000 ft ) in central Calif. Sierra Nevada Mt.s.
(Courtright at 8,000 ft is still closed for a few more weeks)

I couldn’t find anybody who wanted to hit the road at 3:30 am so I went up by myself, and was lines out trolling by 6:15 am.
No size, mostly Rainbows between 11” and 17”, and one 16” German Brown.

The action was non stop, I boated 43 fish, and lost a dozen more by 11:00 am.

Congrats on a lot of fish and a nice Brown for up there. Looks like you're still using the Rapala. Which model?

That's a Lucky Craft pointer.
I also caught a lot on a J-7 Rainbow and a J-9 Brook trout pattern.

Nice! Good thing trout are cannibals LOL! I've been doing real good out on Lake Michigan trolling a Rapala J-9 silver and black for Browns and Lakers.

I did a job at Teakettle Creek off McKinley road last fall. Stayed at Dinkey Creek cabins. Went up there to check out Wishon and Courtright, pretty cool country. Amazing what those guys did up there in the hills back in the day.

The water has warmed, schit will be electric and there's always a chance to hook into something 20lbs or greater.

Hell...might even be fun.
