Renting, or leasing a boat? I see boats that my boat could do figure eights in.
Are all those boats owned by the person using it?
I have no idea. What I do know is that there are some people in this town pulling $70k boats with $10k pickups and living in $30k trailers which to me seems out of whack. And plenty of people living in houses with new pickups and they can't afford those boats either. I guess good for the boat manufacturers that dick measuring is alive and well. To each his own, but it makes me wonder.
I doubt if the fish care how much you paid for the boat.
Never looked as leasing, but my financial advisor wanted a small runabout to do some fishing. Wife and kids got involved and he ended up with a $58K ski monster. A year later divorce proceedings began. No idea what happened to the boat.
Only benefit to a lease is the potential to write it off if it can be included as a business expense.
