I have a $50 1903 Turkish Mauser [2001 prices at BIG5] that is getting a Bartlein barrel in 260 rem.

The Timney trigger needs a spacer larger than 0.002" , but less than 0.035".
Seen here with ).020" Aluminum spacer.

The Wisner M70 type safety needs me to mill 0.045" of the rear of the cocking piece and still have 0.030" the safety pushes the firing pin back.

I cannot find any action screws in my shop.

Mauser action screws are out of stock?

What?

Who is hoarding Mauser guard screws?
Numrich/Gun Parts Corp lists them in stock (see items 25/26).
The 1903 Turks are really good looking actions with that tall stripper clip hump.

There's a few screw sets on eBay albeit the prices aren't great.

Thanks. I ordered a pair.

Why?
I found out 3 actions in a row were warped or otherwise unusable and got to keep buying replacements. That was a good time.

Otherwise not too many surprises.

Bolt will not lift at one extreme.
Firing pin not held back other extreme.
I would caution against using shims on a trigger. Lawyer's wet dream. Your sear window in the tang probably needs to be opened up to the front.
Your best source of information on this trigger would be Timney.

After your post, I left Timney technical assistance a message, but there seems to be no interference in the receiver trigger hole.
I think it is a height problem consistent with the tests.
1903 Turkish Mausers have extra long cocking pieces with standard firing pins, but shorter bolts.

I dug through my Mauser boxes and found some screws and triggers.

The Bold trigger does not need a spacer in a 1903 Turk.
The Gold trigger does not need a spacer in a 1903 Turk.
The Timney trigger does need a spacer in a 1903 Turk.

The amount to mill off the cocking piece for the Wisner safety to pull the firing pin back 0.030"[safety margin], varies with triggers.

+ the stock Mauser trigger made in 1903 makes 8.574" of firing pin holdback [same as Timney] in the same set up with a trued receiver face.

Timney has absolute [bleep] customer service- I wouldn't expect any return calls from them...
I called Timney again and got transferred to a guy who said the sear hole being too small would not stop the bolt from opening.
He said I could keep the shim or grind a few thousands off the top of the Timney sear.
He says he personally would grind rather than shim, to keep the parts count down.

I tried two 1903 Turk receivers and bolts had the same need for a shim with the Timney.
