Bought one up recently and looking to pick up some ammo while I’m waiting for it to get here. Steel case is pretty cheap but I’ve heard mixed things on whether or not I can safely. Thoughts?
I've shot both brass and steel through mine without any problems. I prefer the South African brass NATO for it.
My Ishapore shoots copper washed steel jacketed 308 ammo best. This was 10 cents a shot delivered from Shotgun News in the 1990s.
In the early 1990s, I bought an Ishapore 2A because I wanted a 7.62 NATO rifle, not just a 308. That rifle would digest everything I fed it. RG surplus, Greek, IVI and even the click bang Pakistani stuff. None of it was particularly accurate, but it wasn’t fussy.
