Thanks to Washington state and Jay Inslee, I have within reach an Imbel-based, I assume metric, FAL kloodge parts gun with an Izzy FALO forearm, lower from something else, butt and grip something else, giant oddball muzzle blast, not brake. No carry handle, which it sure needs. Seems mechanically sound, clean enough, but I haven't even worked the action yet. Would you bother to familiarize yourself with such a thing, even shoot it?
I love Imbel-receivered - it's my favorite EBR.
Of course, mine has the carry handle - that makes all the difference.
I guess if it's still around (me too) in the spring, I'll open it up, make sure it's clean, and try it.
I definitely would, I've got 2 FALs and parts coming to build a third
If you need help in figuring out what you have, or have issues getting it to run, feel free to reach out. I've been building FAL's for a long time and was trained on them in the British Army. My email is thegman1763 at gmail.com. (replace the at with @) FAL's can be a lot of fun and I've taken mine hunting too. This is me and Splattermatic in WY many years ago whacking antelope with our inch versions of the FAL.
