Not really in my wheelhouse, have the chance to pick up one in really nice condition. Only issue is a junk recoil pad(dried out). Blue is nice, walnut is nice but not exactly fancy. I'd guess 80% condition conservatively. Ballpark value?

No clue, but I'll venture a guess at $525+/-
Recoil pads are easy. Buy the jig, buy the belt sander and you're set up.

The Voere Cougar line is interesting to say the least. Be careful of those that have the tang safety, the stocks are very prone to cracking behind that tang.

$525 is far too high IMO, especially if it needs a new pad. I paid $325 for the last 7mm Rem Mag Mk X I bought.

Dunno about the cracking, but one I looked at seemed like a jury-rig design. Floorplate was crappy too. Tim can do better, for less, I'll bet.

That line of rifles varied quite a bit in terms of configuration.

The One's with the tang safety had cheap aluminum bottom metal. The tang safety worked well but was an aluminum add on unit that was screwed to the rear tang, it required removal on lots of wood from that area and no reinforcements were used. They cracked, often.

The better rifles IMO, were the ones that used the milsurp bottom metal and lacked the tang safety. These were pretty lightweight rifles despite being all steel. I gave in the low $300's for my last one and duplicated the barrel on a 6.5mm blank so now I can switch between 6.5x55 or .30-06.

Think I might spend the money on a roller mill and a mash tun instead...it'd just be another rifle to sit in the safe when the 8x57 goes hunting anyway.
