Just received these from a family member deployed overseas. I get my choice of either Martini's or one of the Snyders.

The Martini on the bottom seems to be original and not a Khyber Pass Special. The only suspect item is the rear sight, but that can just be rust and damage.

The Martini at the top seems to be an original reciever, barrel and rear stock, but has been modified. The rear sight is graduated at 100, 100, 100, 100 which seems kind of funny. The falling block is pretty beat up.

They came in today and I have not had any time to inspect further and only took this one pic. Any thoughts on having a gunsmith rebuild one of the Martinis into a 444? or will the cost make it prohibitive? or safety issues?

I would possibly use the top one for a custom.
It needs to be thoroughly gone over by a competent Smith though.

The tear shaped cocked indicator does not seem to be original on the top one.

They were selling those in Afghanistan over 10 years ago. Looks like they would have ran out of them by now.

They're probably still filing more out of bar stock.
