I located and purchased a very nice Parker Bros. 16 gauge #1 frame, 28" barrels, choked mod X mod. The finish is outstanding, well kept since 1897. The bores are shiny and the gun is tight on face. Parker made 607 GH 16's. I'm fortunate to find one and at pretty modest price, since Cabela's doesn't always price their firearms accurately.

That's a lovely old Parker in wonderful condition. The damascus barrels are spectacular.
Beautiful Parker

Nice Gun, be care full what you shoot in it!

Good Damascus barrels are more than strong enough for modern 16 gauge loads. Yours, as described will work fine. You may want to check the chamber to see that it isn’t 2 9/16 inches. If it is, 2 1/2 inch shells are available.
I have 100 16 Gauge Magtech and 17 vintage Winchester 2-1/2" all brass cases. That's more than enough for some weekend clay's recreation. I load 2-3/4 Drams of FFG Black Powder behind 7/8 oz. of shot.
