I was given a lb of WW540. I can not find load data for it. I am interested in using for pistol loading. I have heard it is similar to HS6. If so can I use HS6 data?Anybody have any info?

It is not only similar, it is in fact the exact same powder sold as HS-6. Call Hodgdon and they will confirm this for you.

Some other equity tidbits in case you weren’t aware:

WW 231 = HP-38
WW 540 = HS-6
WW 571 = HS-7 both discontinued
WW 296 = H-110

Do you have a particular projectile design and weight for which you are searching for load data?
