I'd like some input before I buy - thanks!
As a 44mag reloader I would assume these are loaded to the max. Would for sure be a wrist twister & a finger banger. . If you have a lighter weight revolver you would want to give it serious thought. I shoot a 310gr I home cast myself & drive around 1100fps from a heavy Ruger 7/5" Redhawk. Very manageable in this revolver.
Just to clarify, we're talking about this bullet, right? https://missouribullet.com/details.php?prodId=460&category=5

In my experience, you have to drive WFN designs at top speed for accuracy, so Hesp's comments on recoil are spot on. If you don't need to shoot lengthwise through an elk, then your hands, wrists, and guns will last a lot longer with a 250-grain LFN or SWC design at 1,100 fps.

Yes that bullet. But I'm thinking of getting coated version.

I am planning on run it a little over 1000fps out of a 4" barrel. I think the twist rate on a S&W is fast enough to stabilize it. But it isn't a WFN.

Description says it's a 300WFN. Looks more like what we used to call a LWFN (Long wide flat nose) Personally? I would look at something else for the uses you describe.

I agree that it looks like Veral Smith's old LWFN or wide long nose (WLN) designs.

Go ahead and give them a try, but I wouldn't buy a 1,000-round box at first. 50 or 100 should be enough to show whether or not it will work.

They come 400 to a box.

How about an Ogive Wadcutter? With a really long nose?
I found out they offer a 100 bullet sampler pack for $20, so I ordered the HiTek coated.

I'm a little concerned about crimp jump tying up the cylinder. The nose on this bullet is .44" long, .36" wide meplat. This is too long for a standard SW cylinder of 1.7" if the bullets move much. And the 329pd can move them.

My target velocity is 1000fps.

Deep seat them and give yourself a it more leeway. Adjust powder accordingly for the decrease in case capacity.

I thought about that, but I decided to see how slippery the HiTek coated were. If they dont move when pushed with a slower powder (Enforcer) to 1000fps then I'll consider it a success. I wouldn't bother trying if I alox coated them as plain LLA is too slippery to trust on a hot day.

Anyways, I don't currently cast my own, Leadhead passed away, and Beartooth bullets seems to be lost in space (did Marshall Stanton pass away?). I'm not interested in $.50/each prices from the hand ladelers. All I wanted was a friggin 300gr WFN, (no gas check), that I would drive at a sedately speed of 1000fps. Nobody else in the US sells an LBT-style WFN -why I don't know.

I was so pissed that I almost called Veral and ordered a mold. I may order a mold from him anyway for my 45-70 as I'm running out of stock and im not seeing the bullets I like.

Enough to piss off the good humor man smile
I received a sample pack of the Hammer, did some work and wrote it up:

I didn't realize that - Google makes the simplest things a pain in the butt sometimes......
Should be better now....
