Hey guys ,has anyone loaded the sierra silhouette 250 gr.fpj #8615 in their 44 mag,if so would you care to share some of your load data ? I have a super blackhawk with 4 5/8" and a smith model 69 with the 4.25" barrel that I want to load for. I'd like to use them on some bear and hog . Thanks in advance

I had just posted about this bullet in another thread. I shot a dog in the street with this load and a black bear at 20’ dog and bear made it about 10-15 feet. It made a dime or so sized exit on the bear. In and out. Not really sure how good of a bullet it would be. I planned on testing it out but stopped using it because I got what I ordered in.

I use that bullet in my 444 marlin loaded down to 2200 fps. From what I can tell with limited experience they expand pretty well at that speed. I wouldn't expect much expansion at handgun 44 velocities.

I load the .44 250 grain Sierra silhouette bullet with 22.5 grains of H110.
4” 329pd and 16” 94 trapper.

Shot a buck with it at maybe 5 yards with the 4” 329pd. Bullet did not exit, recovered from his neck after deflecting from the shoulder. These bullets have poor and unreliable expansion for hunting use, and straight penetration is not guaranteed either. Fun as hell on steel plates, but better choices for hunting like the Speer 270gr deep curl soft point, or better yet hard cast LBT style bullets.

Well geez guys sometimes you just need to read the description from the source

44 MAG 250 GR. FPJ
These bullets were designed primarily for Handgun Metallic Silhouette shooting. They have the Full Profile Jacket Match TournamentMaster design with a cannelure correctly positioned for 44 Remington Magnum revolvers. If accuracy is your objective, these bullets should be your choices. They are also excellent for game such as bear and wild boar, where minimal expansion and deep penetration are required.

They mushroom very well from a 444. I just used them in my 444 because I had a couple of boxes of them and didn't figure I'd use them in my pistols. They certainly detonate a rabbit at 444p speeds.
