Don't know about them but figured cheap enough to give a try.
things might be loosening up

Never tried them myself, but I have seen them in stock several times at PV lately at 20-30 bucks a brick less than domestics.

Of no real bearing of any sort other than national origin, I have had Argentinian made airgun pellets shoot very well through several of my air rifles 🤣

MidSouth has Fiocchi small pistol and small rifle primers for $130/1500.
Not as cheap as Norma, but better than $100-$150/1000.
I bought 5K Ginex SPPs for around $.07/ea shipped. No difference in accuracy tested at 25 yards. Cups seemed a little softer is all I noticed.

Got 600 from Scheels, some thief stole 400 out of the brick. Contacted Scheels. They will hold a brick for me. Cost was 90.00 for CCI SPP.

Was that with hazmat + shipping?

I don't consider that price "loosening up". Loosening up is when democRATS are out of office, and primers are cheap once again, and when the price is $15 a thousand at Cabelas and Sportsman's Warehouse once again, like I was buying them for under the Trump Administration.... and powder is NO Longer at $50 a pound...
I was not talking about price John, but about availability

Man, I haven't seen $15 a brick primers in 20 years. I think the lowest sticker I have on one is $25 and those are probably from mid/late 2000s.

Those kind of prices are NEVER coming back. That cat is out of the bag and gone. Places aren't gonna give stuff away when they know they can sell them at even half of what they're charging now.
Pre 2008, 22LR 550 packs were going for 6.99 @Wally World. When they started coming back they were 20. Haven’t seen 15 bucks a brick since the mid 90’s shortage. Basically I will never see 6.99 550 packs or even 30 buck a brick primers let alone 15 ever again. Fantasy land if you think so.

$15 primers were a 30 year ago phenomenon. Four years ago the best primer prices hovered around $30, give or take - a price level we shall never see again dear hearts.

I concur. I will be absolutely stunned if general retail on primers ever drops below $55-ish/1000 again, sales excluded.

If/when things settle out into a new plateau as they generally do after the shortage spikes, I'm expecting $60-90 a brick to be the new normal on domestic primers. The premium on match primers has jumped a lot more than it did before this time.
Here is another source. I bought large rifle and small rifle primers from them, they are a legitimate business. The prices listed are for 2000 primers not per 1000

I tried the Argentine SPP in my 1911 38 super. Out of the first 100 rounds, I had 9 failures to fire, all went off eventually, but one took four attempts. I also had three pierced primers out of that 100. Never had an issue with that gun and CCI or Federal. I’ll keep the rest of the brick I have, but they are last ditch/plinking primers only.

I buy Ginex primers off the shelf for $85/1k. So it seems that the supply and pricing is improving.

Be real.
Those prices aren't coming back because $1 isn't worth what 100 pennies was worth
20 years ago.

Are you willing to work for 2002 wages?
Is that ripping off whoever pays you?
Take a look at American Reloading.

That is also true, inflation is a biatch of late 😬

I still stand by the fact that suppliers are not going to drastically cut pricing when they know they can easily get more for the product than they had at the previous pre-spike level.

That happens with reloading supplies and ammo every time there's a shortage. The new normal level always settles out well beyond what had been typical prices before.

How do we ever know exactly?
I agree with you.
But there is inflation.

At the same time once you establish a high price customers will pay, while
maintaining the desired cash flow with demand, who wants to sell for less.

Call me lazy and greedy, but I'm all about more money and less work.
Not many want to do more for less.

That's a fact. It's bad business to cut profit while demand is solid.

I work pushing paper/counting beans in manufacturing... logistics has also gone batshit crazy over the past couple years, so that's definitely a factor to some degree as well.
I've been testing those Argentina primers lately and found they're only about 90% reliable with my hammer fired guns. Striker fired about 70% and most of my mouse guns will only ignite about 50% of them. I ended up making a crowned punch for my Lee Ram-Prime which will concave the primers ever so slightly and that did the trick. With that slight concave they are 100% reliable in all my guns with the exception of only a few very light striking mouse guns.

I loaded a bunch in .38 Specials tonight, we'll see how they do in my Colt Officer's Model or K-38 this weekend hopefully.

I've used them (Servicios & Aventuras) for 9mm, range brass, loaded on a Dillon SDB. I've not had any failures, but time will tell. They do seem "hotter" than CCI500.
