They said it was going to be a seamless move with little to no loss of production. Couldn't quite wrap my brain around that. But we'll see.

Maybe they bought a boat load of new machinery & have been training new employees for a while. Otherwise, moving a lot of machinery from NY to Ga., getting it set up & wired doesn't happen over night. The bosses might think it does & will push for it, but it can take some time.
Someone posted an auction ad that Remington was selling a bunch of equipment in Illion. CNC machines and barrel making machines, etc.
Does not appear they are moving much machinery looking at the auction.
Older CNC machines,,, dump them when ya get the chance. Upgrades can be better in so many ways.

But auctioning the barrel making machines is somewhat confusing. Always said to be scarce, & the older ones so good that it pays to rebuild them & keep them going. Many barrel makers prize their old Pratt & Whitney's. But maybe the custom bunch like them, the high production companies may have other choices.
Some old stuff they are auctioning
They are getting away from the unions

You don't use WWII era gun drills when you hammer forge barrels on state of the art equipment.
