That is a beautiful rifle. I bought one identical to yours here for sale but from Jaquas. After I mounted a Sightron on it, I was hitting golf balls at 100 yards.
Yours is 100% original. No aftermarket sling swivels. A big plus to collectors. Since it’s a featherweight, a big plus for hunters.
Very common to have a bit of corrosion there. Only takes setting it wet grass once and then putting it away to get that.

My favorite model. Same model as yours, all original and in 300 sav. They flat out shoot. Get one while you can. The OP has a great looking one to sell. ![[Linked Image from i.ibb.co]](https://i.ibb.co/8Y213jL/0-2015-buck3.jpg)

My favorite model of the 99 as well. Have three , one a 300 sav. Similar to this one but not nearly as pristine. Have taken deer, antelope, and elk with it , open sights. Hunted muskox on Victoria Island with it in 2005, one shot kill , open sights , 165 gr. REM core lock hand loads. I wouldn’t feel under gunned hunting brown bear with it with proper bullets. It’s a wonderful little rifle in a classic mild kicking caliber a person can shoot accurately.

Fotis: Supposedly all post war 99f came factory D&T, Though I’am no expert? Have seen and handled lots of them everyone I’ve seen were Incidently, though never happened to me, I’ve talked to other F owners that found cash rolled up in the hollow under the butt plate, always check those I buy hoping I get lucky Don Chase

Hope I didn’t confuse folks with my post war statement. All the modern F ‘s were obviously post war since they were not introduced until 1955, there was a pre war model 99f, that if memory serves me right was dropped in the 30’s. It was not stamped 99f and some other slight differences from the modern F. Can’t understand why this sweetheart hadn’t not moved. If I wasn ‘t 85 years old and already had one it would have been go asap.

Factory drill and tap began in the mid 1950s for 99s. The F was introduced in 1955 and they are all factory drilled and tapped for scope mounts.
This is a nice rifle at a very good price.

My 99 F in 300 sav is a 1957 vintage. Savage lettering on the side and factory d&t'd. Best of luck with your sale.
