I just bought 1000rnds of Tula from BulkAmmo - $219 before shipping, $246 total. $27 for shipping. I see the stuff for 19 cents a round elsewhere, but I'm sure shipping will drag the price back up towards 25 cents/round. Who is your favorite online source for 5.56 fodder?

SG Ammo is where I usually order bulk from. Have gotten it from AIM Surplus also but they sometimes take 5-7 days before it ships out.

I always check Ammoseek for the best current deals. I haven't had bad service from any vendor I've used including: SG Ammo, Selway Armory, Target Sports, Palmetto State Armory, Primary Arms, Widener's, Midway, Natchez. Ammoseek

Ammoseek+1 for starting with Ammoseek I agree with Ammoseek, but what would be better is a site that figures the shipping with the price, as most places have $20+shipping.

I handload about 95% of the ammo that I shoot, I occasionally will but a box or two from my local Walmart, last time I bought bulk ammo was from Natchez shooter supply but never again, their shipping charges are a rip off. If I was to buy bulk ammo again I would order it from Cabelas and have it sent to their local store and pay no shipping charges.

SG Ammo has steel case .223 for as low as $205/1000 plus $16 shipping, brass cased for less than $280/1000. A lot of options above that as well as pistol and good selection of 22lr. I've been very pleased with their service. They have an email newsletter that touts the latest hot deals.

I like SGAmmo, Bone Frog Gun Club, Palmetto State Armory for most ammo purchases. That being said, I just got a great deal on 270 Win 130gr Fed Fusion from Midway USA......

Random question here.
Has anyone used the Hornandy TAP ammunition. GT Distributors has it but their site says for LEO only. It's 556 and it says not for use in 223 chambers. I wanted to get a few boxes to take hog hunting.

I wanted to get a few boxes to take hog hunting. I have. I shot it in a Remington model 7. I wasn't impressed with the accuracy, so I didn't buy any more. I had no pressure signs in my rifle, which may have had a longer throat, which allowed for the increased pressures. Personally, if I were to buy factory loads for hogs, I would buy the Winchester 64gr Power Point and go kill stuff. I reload my .223's with 64gr. Federal Fusions I get from Rocky Mountain Reloading. $135.00/1,000. They work great! Ed

SGAmmo's everyday prices are hard to beat, but occasionally you can find sales on something particular at other sources that might beat them, but they are consistently a good source.

I found a bad one - AmmoLiquidator. Took my money and then silence for a week - so far. I just pinged their customer service - I suspect they'll say it is back ordered, which is retailer-speak for "now that we have your money we placed an order".
AmmoLiquidator - is on my naughty list.

At the right price waiting a bit on ammo wouldn't bother me one bit. I TRY to never get anywhere near low anyway.

I went to academy today to but some ammo for hunting. They were picked over. I ended up buying Hornady 60 grain whitetail ammo.

Well I'm taking AmmoLiquidator off my naughty list. It took two emails but then they were falling all over themselves apologizing and getting my order shipped.
