It always seems strange to me to see white folk performing the Haka which is a traditional Maori challenge or sometimes a greeting. In early times the Maori would perform it in front of their enemies prior to battle. Must of been terrifying for the early colonial soldiers fighting them. In WWII the German paratroopers in the battle of Crete were said to be petrified by the Maori soldiers there to help defend the island and who loved night fighting. Maoris make good soldiers and have a liking for combat.
In this video you see NZ troops giving three slain comrades a send off with the Haka. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5js6wPXec4
