Was at the local fun shop and they have a 760 .35 Rem with the checkered stock and forend. Looks to be in great (98%) condition. What kind of value would you say? Prices seem to be all over the place. I don’t need it but it is very nice and comes with a Tasco in see through mount to boot!

Okay I’m not up on the particulars of 760s. By 5 diamond I’m referring to the checkering pattern on the forend. The shop is asking $590

Blue Book, 37 Ed. shows the 760 5 diamond at 98% listed for $675.

This isn't the latest Blue Book and with a moving market, they'll often be behind the curve.

I'm not sure how fast moving or static that market may be.

Sounds like a nice one. Depends on how bad someone wants it. Good round.

For that price buy it now. I sold a 7600 in 35 Remington earlier this year for $1500

Well my first thoughts are to rechamber to .358, chop the barrel to 18” and maybe thread it. I know, blasphemy! But it would make a handy deer blaster. Nah, I wouldn’t slice up the old girl. What I will do is give you guys the location….. Cabela’s gun library in Dundee MI. I’m going to be there Monday morning when there’s 10% off and if it’s still there I might grab it. So if any of you want it, get it while you can.

Remington firearms have entered the collectors realm and prices have been undergoing a total reset

And I would think the higher grade and in .35 Rem would be a hot item.

Looks like a good deal to me.

Lotta guys don’t know what a real 5 Diamond is. They use the term on any gun that’s fancy and in nice shape. True 5 diamonds would fly out the door at the door at$600. Any nice 760 is gonna get there at an auction. They have always been hot here.
And real nice ones are not the rule. They were popular at a time when the guys who bought them hunted. As a verb. Not perched like a bird.

Remington 5 diamond

Not a common gun in high condition. 35 Rem or 300 Savage would bring a premium IMO.

Forget about the Blue Book. Useless.

It amazes me how Remington Gamemaster rifles bring big money in PENN, WV & NY. In other states most people have no interest in them

I don't see them up north here very often but was lucky to find a .257 rifle and a .270 Carbine in the 5-Diamond.

I have my Dad's 5 diamond 300 Sav and Gramp's in 35 Rem. If I had to put a value on them, I'd say priceless.

I went back this morning and the 760 is still there, today minus 10% if you're a card holder ($531). If you're a Vet or LE then there's more discounts. This time my "conscience" accompanied me and I put it back on the rack, she got a pair of shoes though. I already have a .35 Rem pump (141) and no space in the safe.

I bought that 760 .35 a week ago from Cabela's. It also had and extra clip. They only give Vets discount of 5%. The rifle has been toyed a little bit, but is still darn nice.
