For hunting rifles, my gunsmith has been instructed to set them between 3 and 3-1/4 lbs. Varmint rifles are different, tho. My 40XBKS runs 2 lbs. A 700 22-250 I have, which was set up by a stool shooter, runs just over 16 ozs.
