The Short Trac looks kind of radical, but it fits like a glove. I have owned four or five of the original BAR'S over the years and all of were heads above the Rem 740 and 7400. I personally wouldn't trade one BAR for three 7400's if i had to keep them and use them to hunt with . Most BAR'S will shoot with most bolt gun out of the box.
