Finished the book last night. Well worth the read. It's more on the background of the people involved and the local politics of the time than the actual battle. What stood out to me is how many people involved voluntarily enlisted instead of being drafted. I'm sure some knew they were about to be drafted and signed up to get a better MOS, but they still joined the army when they could have found safer jobs elsewhere.
