Some might accuse me of mis-info, but I know I'm correct 'cause I been there and done that. smile Today "pistol" scopes are significantly better than when I was breaking them in the early 1990's with my Freedom Arms .454. It ate about a dozen. My favorite was the Bushnell 2-6X because I fired more sub 2" groups at 100 yards with it than all the others combined. It just could not handle the repeated recoil of the .454.

The one that lasted was the second generation Leupold Vari-X 2 1/2-8X32. The first one, like most of the rest, lasted about 300 rounds. It is, in fact, still on there after thousands of rounds. The eye relief starts about a foot and goes out from there. The glass, perhaps, was the best of all of them.
