ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Alaska State Troopers say the 45-year-old pilot of a Cessna 207 died when the plane crashed into rugged terrain west of Juneau.

The Alaska Dispatch News reports that pilot Fariah Peterson of Birmingham, Alabama, was killed in the Friday afternoon crash. The plane's four passengers were injured.

Troopers identified the passengers as Juneau resident 57-year-old Humberto Herrera and his wife, 60-year-old Sandra Herrera, as well as 15-year-old Jose Vasquez of Puerto Rico and 64-year-old Ernestine Hanlon-Abel of Hoonah.

The Coast Guard took all four survivors by helicopter to Juneau for treatment.
