We lived out in the country a few miles. Ours and neighbor's houses were both near the property line.

Wife was sitting on the porch reading and enjoying a nice afternoon and an iced tea. Mr. Bobcat stalked, and caught one of the neighbor's prized red hen's. Wife had watched the scene and finally realized it was a bobcat, grabbed her broom, and gave persuit. Bobcat won the race even while carrying the hen.

My .218 Bee was just inside the door. She never thought about that.

Daughter, SIL, and family live at the very edge of town. They keep cats to thin gophers and mice. Cats, especially kittens, have a short shelf life. Between the coyotes, Bobcats, and a nearby highway, they don't last long.
