That was a lot bigger than Ted, and Alaska actually got a tremendous bargain, IMO, when the agreement was reached which gave title to Native groups while paving a way for the development of oil. I will venture that a very large percentage of every dollar that most Alaskans - and quite a few others- put into their pockets every month have their origin the the oil we get as a result of that deal. BTW, nearly twice as much land falls in BLM jurisdiction as does land in Native Corp hands. That said, the corps. did get to choose some nice parcels.
