I just picked up a Miller Bluestar 2E, gas engine powered DC arc welder. (For $100. Was my buddy trying to give this to me?)

I've never welded and have no gear. What helmet should I get and where should I get it?

Price is a major consideration, but vision safety is my overriding concern. I am an accountant and can not make a living if I can't read small type clearly. I'm already 64 and mildly diabetic so I don't want to heap any more damage on my eyes.
