After much searching and handling and prodding by the kids, I got a rifle purchased for them to share this Fall for their first ever big-game hunting.

I looked at a number of rifles and landed on getting a Tikka in 223. Stopped in at the local shop just before ordering the Tikka, found they had a 223 in a Howa. Handled it and the kids liked the slight drop at the wrist of the stock and it is light. Ended up with that. Got a fixed 6 power scope on the way.

Thinking this will be the first rifle I try to reload for. Be a good one to play with as components shouldn't be too scarce or expensive.

After this week, we should be able to get the thing set up and start some practice. Fun times.
