Most aftermarket barrel makers for mauser actions use a conventional barrel tenon to headspace against. Rhineland was quite ingenious to use the Savage style nut for home smiths that aren't set up to chamber a barrel.
You could have a gunsmith thread a barrel for a savage style nut, but you'd be out the same $ as having him chamber one of the short chambered barrels.
