Hemingway Short Stories

Outstanding. Was putting off reading Hemingway because I knew it would make me want to hunt Africa. Certainly that happened but I wish I had read this 10-15 years ago. I'm at the disadvantage of not having read any Hemingway novels to compare but I absolutely loved this compilation. There's something in these stories for everyone, you can relate to this writing no matter what life you've led. Youth, old age, hunting and nature, death, courage, cowardice, vices and virtue, women/marriage/relationships, war.

It's relatively easy reading and gives you plenty to think about and relate to. Hemingway's prose is perfect, crisp and concise. Really good stuff.

Some of my favorites:
The Short, Happy Life of Francis Maycomber
The End of Something
The Undefeated
A Natural History of the Dead
A Way You'll Never Be
Fathers and Sons
Big Two-Hearted River
