I was driving on the Interstate yesterday. While passing a truck towing a trailer and Polaris quad, I noticed the rear ratchet strap on the quad was swinging in the breeze.
So I pulled up next to the guy, and tried to hand signal him that the strap was undone. ( Of course the attempt left him looking at me like I'm spazzo or something crazy )
I motioned him to pull over and pulled ahead, turn signalling to the shoulder.
When I ran back to tell him his strap was undone, he said "I'll have to pull off further up, I need more room than the freeway shoulder has to get into my wheelchair to fix it. Thanks for letting me know."
I said "you're in a wheelchair? I got this it'll only take a minute."
As I was re-securing the rear strap, a large red fox went racing across the freeway just ahead of us.
It felt good to help.
Nothing heroic or life changing, just a chance to do some good.
I feel great.
