You need to put your fingers over the tail of the lever, or have small fingers to go under. Some people put more curve in the rear of the lever to make finger room underneath, but I wouldn't do it to an unmodified rifle.

I do have two #1 stocks I would sell.

One has a repaired split behind the tang and some dings in the side of the stock. Original owner fell on rocks with the rifle. Gunsmith repaired it with epoxy. Slight ridge at crack-not sanded yet. No butt pad.

The other is in good shape but has been shortened by the thickness of the recoil pad. It is the same length as the regular stock's wood only.

I'll take some photos that may show condition if anyone is interested.

I have no idea what these stocks are worth now. Can anyone give me an idea?
