b: Back in the 80's we'd take a 270 or 280 Remington Mountain rifle,drop it in a Brown Precision FG stock,slap on a 4X or 6X and go hunting. I KNOW the outfit weighed under 7 pounds.

I gave one of these to a rancher friend in Wyoming back around 1983 or so. It must have 40+ elk to its credit now,and more big mule deer than most of us have even seen.Biggest MD is over 200 and the biggest bull over 360.

No blueing left on the barrel and the stock paint is worn through to the fiberglass ,the fixed 4X is scratched and out dated. But it still kills and shoots.

I bought a "spare" which sits at the ranch, but we have never needed it.
