I wasn't sure if the A-4 had self-contained cart start capabilities or had to use an external power source. In the AF we used a -60 which was a combination unit that provided power and compressed air for engine starts. Having done a multitude of engine runs on KC/EC-135 aircraft I knew better to circumvent procedures involved with running engines.
Wonder what happened to the tower personal and security people who were on duty that night...
