I'm getting a real itch for an 1894. The pistol grip of a 336 works a lot better for me than the straight stocks. I've researched SG to PG conversions and am pretty comfortable with being able to make that work. (I build race cars and stuff.) I also need to significantly increase the length of pull.

Rather than hacking up an original stock, I'd like to throw on a replacement and keep the original parts original in case I ever get bored with the whole deal. Looks like the least expensive option is the Champion synthetic, a bit more than $50 for butt and fore end online. Reviews say they drop some weight compared to the wood, which would be a good thing. I could beat the crap out of the synthetic, drill holes in it, glue stuff to it, etc. and not feel bad.

Anyone have experience with these parts? Horrible, decent, wonderful, other?
