Looks like fun! I just took the dive into 22HP myself, having resisted it a long time as more trouble than it's worth,...boy was I wrong!!
It'd be a good gun to have "lettered" by sending a request (and donation) to the Savage arms historian (see the sticky in the Savage Collector's forum; useful information thread.
It may have been a boxed set from the factory with both barrels matched to the receiver. And you will find out a bit more detail of when it's life started.
